Dog Kennel Wood – wall gapping. Wild flower seed planting in poly tunnel.

Tuesday 11th March:

Dog Kennel Wood. Logging and chipping, sowed trays of wildflowers, “weeding”, secured fence around wildflower area.

Fellside: Belmont and Sepulchre areas – nature enhancement.

Tuesday 18th March:

Dog Kennel Wood. Built “dead hedges”, tree cuttings, re-built comfrey bed, tree cuttings.

Serpentine triangle. Transplanted wild flowers.

Nobles Rest: spread compost on central bed.

Wetland area at Canal Head: general management.

Hollin Bank: walling/repairs

Tuesday 25th March:

Somervell Garden (by River Kent) – planting wild flower plugs.

Dog Kennel Wood: Dead hedging, pond clearance, hole filling, wild flower production (seed trays, plug plants)

Dog Kennel Wood: repair of toilet steps. Organised whiteboard.

Hollin Bank: Drystone wall repairs.

Tuesday 4th: Assessment of damage in Serpentine Wood from recent strong winds, weeding in Dog Kennel Wood.

Tuesday 11th: Clearing fallen trees from Serpentine Wood and DKW, and gardening in Noble’s Rest.

Tuesday 18th: Gardening at Noble’s Rest and clearing brambles and sedge at DKW.

Tuesday 25th: Gardening at DKW, and clearing yet more brambles and sedge.

Tuesday 7th: Clearing brambles and other plants from the walls in Dog Kennel Wood and from the paths in Serpentine Wood.

Tuesday 14th: More bramble clearance in DKW and Serpentine Wood.

Tuesday 21st: Cutting back overgrown plants in Noble’s Rest to let light onto paths.

Tuesday 28th: Clearing fallen trees in Serpentine Wood and planting new trees in Noble’s Rest.

Tuesday 3rd: Planting daffodil bulbs in Noble’s Rest Park, and tidying up brambles in Dog Kennel Wood.

Tuesday 10th: Tree planting down in Noble’s Rest Park, and clearing brambles at DKW.

Tuesday 17th: Christmas lunch at Carus Green Golf Course.

Tuesday 5th: Planting wildflowersin Somervell Crescent, and clearing brambles in Dog Kennel Wood.

Tuesday 12th: Planting primulas in Serpentine Wood and clearing the new hedge line in DKW.

Tuesday 19th: Removing the old fence in DKW and starting to lay the hedge, plus collecting leaves for leafmould.

Tuesday 26th: Laying the new hedge in DKW and renewing tree protection in Noble’s Rest.
