The Alphabet Trail was created in 2007 in Serpentine Wood, with a set of 26 sculptures along a 1.2 mile meandering route through the woodland (See Visit Kendal for details). Over the years, some sculptures have become damaged or lost, and sadly some of the trees have been blown over in storms. We have repaired and replaced many of the sculptures over the years, with financial support from the Kendal Civic Society, Fellside Forum and Westmorland and Furness Council.

The trail is very popular with locals and visitors, and we are always gratified by how many passers-by thank us for our work!
