We are an informal community group of like-minded souls who gather each week to work to improve our environment. Between us we have a wide range of skills, and we:
-
Manage a tree nursery and a wildflower nursery to produce local native trees and wildflowers
-
Tree and wildflower planting with local partners
-
Hedge planting
-
Hedgelaying in partnership with Westmorland and Furness Council
-
Stonewalling
-
Help to maintain the Alphabet Trail and the Nature Trail in Serpentine Wood
-
Work with partners to help implement the Kendal Fell Management & Action Plans
-
Work with partners to enhance biodiversity and community enjoyment of local spaces around Kendal
-
Look after the Victorian Fern Garden in Serpentine Wood, restored by KCV
We welcome new ideas for projects and are happy to work with other organisations for the public good. Although we are all volunteers, we do ask for modest contributions to cover our running costs.
